Necrophobia is the fear of death or dying. Although, I don't believe there is such a thing as a fear of 'death.' I suppose you get people who fear the actual act of dying, but I don't think you can fear passing from this world to the next.
My reasoning is based on the fact that people don't fear 'death', they fear dying without achieving what they set out to do. I believe people fear leaving this world and not having made any impact on it, or at least I am.
Although my dear friend, Ms Dekker, gave me an interesting view on the topic. She said that the fear of death boils down to human nature. A fear of the unknown. We do not understand death, therefore we fear it. Makes sense.
