Go back to the Roots
very interesting and busy week. besides the fact that it is probably the busiest week on the somerset college calender, it was also my birthday.
valedictory came and went. it was very hard for me to say goodbye to my friends. i honestly do think that i have better friends in matruc than i do in my own grade. i was fine saying bye to them all, but when i said bye to ellen, the tears came flowing. ellen was my first friend i made in matric. she is my art buddy, my inspiration and my friend. she will be sorely missed. once i relaxed and said bye and saw her again later, when i started sobbinig all over again...matric 2011 you will be missed, you guys were awesome.
valedictory party sounded interesting. heard a lot of rumours, which are true. why people's hormones start running wild when they get drunk is beyind me. and seriously, if you're feeling desperate for a bit of action, please just stick to your opposite gender. its so difficult to be someones friend, because the chances of them dissapointing you is very high. that said, their your friend because you can over look their mistakes and live with their strange habits.

Apologies for Peeps
apologies indeed! i havent blogged in such a long time! i havent taken any photos too recently, so i'm going to start putting my old stuff up! these were photos that i took last year when i had my camera for the first time!
going to be a hectic term: working on two art pracs at the same time and exams are going to be a challenge to say the least.
on friday is a day i have been dreading for a very long time: Valedictory! i really am not looking forward to saying goodbye to my very special peeps :( i think i might cry. saying goodbye is difficult, especially when its to such amazing people like jess, ellen and craigles (just to name 3 of my awesome friend in matric)
i went onto the inspiration miss jone's blog today and was extremely impresses and thoughroughly inspired by her photos....again! check-it-out!!
was looking for that woman's day song "you strike a woman, you strike a rock," and through many googles searches i finally found it! its actually called 'pata pata' by mariam makeba. her voice makes is just so amazing and her music gives me chills. i tear up when i think of the amazing woman south africa has lost.
may you rest in peace mariam makeba.

Say What?
what indeed. yesterday morning my nose started bleeding and unlike most people i didnt immediately block it up or try and clean the basin, i did in fact make a composision out of my blood so that i can photograph it. for some this might be strange, buts its all for the restoration of art really.
IT IS DONE!
enough said really, its done and thats it! to be honest i'm not too happy with the end product, but oh well i aint changing a thing on it.

Combination unknown
today i explored the wonderful world of my webcam. i took some really bad quality pics of myself and figured that i could edit the life out of them. technically their not even photos anymore, their art works. these compositions represent two of my favourite things: photography and art.
AND in other news, after painting like a BEAST for the last two days, it seems like i might actually finish that painting before the start of 4th term: TUESDAY! man, its quite sad that its going to be done, odd feeling.

EDEN
what can i say? i do infact enjoy taking photos of flowers and plants. its such an intricate subject to explore. it also has a very challenging element to it because its very difficult to take a photo of one of the most photographed objects in the world without being cliche or predictable.
these were some the first photos i ever took with my camera. its very interesting to see how much my style of photography has changed over the last year.

Running Colours
its holiday and everything is suppose to feel different, right? well no, holiday just feels like a long weekend. there are so many events in our lives that we expect to have a certain outcome but the opposite is true. this brings up the question, would your prefer bad over boring and uneventful. frankly i'd chose to have a bad day rather than a boring day.
this post isn't really making a lot of sense. it's monday morning and i don't got much to say. what i can say is that last night i watched an excellent film. it was a proper foreign film, it was an artistic film which really made you think. "roepman," yes, it is afrikaans and although many televised events in this language has a very cheap and fake outcome, this was an exception, it was exceptional!
