the continuum of light in space

what an average week. . . i've been realising how we are put into situations that we are forced to get along with people that we dont always want to and in turn these people just start annoying us. excuse me, i'm venting. (not that anyone reads my blog anyway)

i took these photos for my artprac last term, there 16 of them that made a little story using light painting. it was really cool standing in the middle of my road jumping around with a flashlight! some people looked at me very strangely.

instantly awsome

sorry i havent posted in such a long time, but i havent been able to load these pictures on for some reason. these pills were so cool i decided i just had to take photos of them. these pills reminded me of our society which revolves around ionstant gratification. we want things to work instantly, i am more guilty than most, i cant wait for a website to load for more than 10 seconds! i think we should try and be more patient and appreciate the slow progressive things, everybody would be much more chilled and relaxed if we did.

had a hectic weekend! lots and lots of work and it jus never ends. thanks to jules for a great and hilarious break cruzin' on our bikes through the West. also thanks to jess and ellen for not studying for your mocks and helping me with our film! i think i would crack without my friends as a distraction.

Waar die Kraanse Antwoord Gee...

you'd think that if you moved to cape town (or close to it) that the first thing you would do is to go up Table Mountain on the cable car, but no. . . it took us a whole year before we did. why? if we were here on a holiday we would have gone up first thing!

the reason is because we only appreciate things when we're in the right setting. this ties in with last weeks post i suppose, but this is just a reminder to not take everything in your 'average' life for granted. i know its not always easy, but try to see your life as if you were always on holiday...appretiate every moment.

philosophy aside, for anybody who hasn't gone up table mountain, do it!! beautiful and amazing. almost as beautiful as college beating pv at rugby on saturday's derby day! :)

telkom fail!

sorry i havent posted in such a long time but homework is busy killing me and now the wonderful and trustworthy telkom has failed to maintian our ADSL line and my internet is reduced to a 3G USB!! it sucks to much to actually be able to load pictures....so sorry no photos today, but as soon as i have internet...

Lamp Posts

its my second post and as the title suggests it is about lamposts. this might sound strange but i go out at late afternoon on my bike and cycle through somerset west armed with my camera looking for potential awsome lamp post scenes. it was a stage...but theres a more important reason for these lamp posts. there is an essay coming up, but please try and make the time to read it:

this might sound really philosophical what i'm about to say but hang in there. i was thinking that there are people in our lives that remind me of lamp posts. because like lamp posts these people only live for a specific moment or event. lamp posts only live at night, and some people only live for certain situations. these may be the up coming holiday or going to town on saturday night....whatever.

the point is that if we concentrate so hard on these certain events, our whole life other than these events are wasted because their not important or fun enough. its very difficult to be close to someone like this because as their friend you always feel that you cant make them feel fulfilled because their not in the right situation to be accepting. they only live in specific moments and through all the rest they're just on stand-by mode.

if you were wondering....yes, this is from personal experience. i cant make this stuff up! i hope that i'm not the only person whose ever felt like this? sorry for being so depressing and a little cliche but just remember that our lives arent just made up of spectacular events...they're made up of everything in between!

btw....this is not aimed at anyone specifically! :)

Light years away

my first blog post and i stil cant believe that i have officially joined the technological generation of social networking and blogging. i've joined a trend....a band waggen, the shame. my aim is infact to show that blogging doesnt have to be senseless and just another way in which people can complain about something. my blog is just another way for me to channel my creativity!

i thought i'd start with a bang, here are some of my light photos. this is somerset west in motion at night! for someone that is quite technologically inept i did pretty well in making my own blog. i hope that you dont find my blog senseless and boring......i hope to continue with blogging in the future, its a new and foreign concept to me that i want to use to show the world how i see it.

i'm not sure what to right because i want to make sense but i dont want to be boring either.....jeez this is really wierd! i thought it would be just like facebook, but its not....
